I don’t see any data

TPMS data may not be available immediately after turning on the car: usually it takes about a minute before data is shown.

After waiting, I still don’t see any data

Check that your car is equipped with a genuine Toyota tire pressure monitoring system.
Aftermarket system are not supported.

The app closes as soon as I move the car.

Tire Assistant works only when your car is connected and turned on, but it’s not meant to be used while driving.
Tire Assistant and its development team don’t encourage or condone any unsafe behavior while driving.

The flat tire is not the one indicated on screen

The car TPMS system does not keep track of the actual tire location, so, for example, the front left tire may be actually the rear right one.
You can adjust screen layout to match you car tire positions by tapping the gauges and moving them around.

How do I get the correct tire position?

You can inflate one a time to see changes in readings, but alternative ways esist:
After a trip, usually the front tires are hotter than the rear ones: by looking at the temperature you can see if front and rear tires are correctly positioned.
Once front and rear are discovered, you can park the car one side in the sun and one in the shadow, and check temperature again to guess left and right position.
You can also warm the sensors with a hairdryer to speed up the process.

I switched from winter tire to summer tires and I don't see the new ones

Some cars can store 2 sets of tires, if they have been correctly registered: you can switch between them by pressing the tire pressure reset button 3 times after the car has been in READY for 3 minutes.
This has been confirmed on a RAV4 Hybrid.

I'm using the suggested adapter, OBDLink LX, but it doesn't work

Be sure your adapter has the lastest firmware version installed: you can check that with the OBDLink own app.
If issues persist, try the following:
  • unpair adapter from Bluetooth settings
  • reboot your phone
  • pair adapter again

I also use Hybrid Assistant. Why TPMS data can’t be shown in Hybrid Assistant?

Reading TPMS data is performed using a special dialog mode that is incompatible with the one used by Hybrid Assistant.

Which OBD adapter should I buy?

Check the OBD page

Is there a version for iPhone?

No

Why not?

Hybrid Assistant is a free app, developed by enthusiasts only for fun. We just choose the platform we think is the most satisfying to develop on.
